Golf balls

Golf balls are small spherical balls hit by the golfer on a golf course. There are several brands of golf balls including Titleist and Nike. These companies often pay celebrity golfers to endorse their equipment.

Golf balls are divided into two categories: recreational and advanced. Recreational golf balls are marketed toward the weekend golfer and are made of only two layers. Advanced balls are made of multiple layers and have a soft cover and a firm core.

Recreational golfers always face the challenge of keeping their golf balls. In order to help prevent golfers from losing their golf balls, manufacturers place their name and a number on the ball. According to USGA rules if an incorrect ball is struck by a golfer it can cost the golfer a penalty.
