The most expensive place to purchase golf equipment is a pro shop. These retail stores are usually located in country clubs or in expensive shopping areas. They sell customized clubs and equipment, but the golfer pays a premium for the specialized attention.

Large sporting goods stores like Dick's sell a variety of golf equipment. Here a consumer can purchase irons, drivers, and golf sets. In addition, golf equipment can also be purchased in sections of large retail stores like Wal-Mart.

Online stores now sell golf equipment at less expensive prices. The disadvantage to shopping on the Internet is that it is difficult to get customized clubs and individual attention. However, Internet sites can sell golf equipment at a reduced price because they can buy in bulk and have low overhead.
