If you can feel, it you can fix it

To up your game, you’ve got to figure out what’s going wrong with your swing. Maybe you’re coming over the top or swaying too much—whatever it is, you need to know what you’re doing before you try to fix it. If you’re just guessing and trying to fix your swing without really getting what you’re doing wrong, it’s like trying to find an unlit candle in a dark room.

There are a couple of ways to lit that candle so that you can begin the process of developing your swing.

Understand where the mistake Is coming from.

Some times a hook Is caused by the grip and sometimes It Is caused by the leg action that occurs. There Is rarely one answer that fixes a shot shape. I would highly recommend a golf Instructor In your area In order to help point you In the right direction. If that Is not possible, then I would attempt focused trial and error.

Exaggerate the correction In the practice swing

Many players believe that a perfect practice swing will be the biggest help to their game, I but this is not an effective approach. If you watch professional golfers whenever they do a practice swing they work to exaggerate a feel that they are working to repeat when they execute their actual swing. Just look at this video below:

In contrast, amateur players often practice swings infrequently and without intent. Trying to make a perfect swing without the golf ball and then trying to replicate that motion with a faster tempo will not work. Beginners should adopt the same focused practice habits as professionals in order to develop true feels with their swing. This means over-exaggerate your correction in order to develop a better feel for it in your playing swing

Video yourself when you think you feel it

If you get to the point in your practice when you are sensing the difference, record your swing In slow motion to see if what you did matched what you felt. If it did, awesome, if not, then keep working to exaggerate the feeling so that one day you will be able to actually execute what you are feeling.

Whatever you are working on, make sure you are seeking to find the fields that are working for your game. I would highly recommend that you find an instructor in your area to do so!
